The Apprentice Resume - Results

So, the results are in.. I've checked my answers against Frankie's.. If you want to see her answers, you're gonna have to pop over to her blog.. *G*

Ok, so after tabulating the results, I have (insert drum roll here) 21 points!!

If I was still in the game, I would have been laid off again!!! I guess me and Frankie aren't a whole lot alike... at least we agree on the Coke/Pepsi argument...

The Apprentice Resume

In the last few weeks, I've been a part of an apprentice game online... about 2 challenges ago, I was 'laid off', however, I got such a kick out of the last challenge, I decided to do it anyway, and post it here.. the deadline is Wednesday, so if I can, I'll let you know how I did... or maybe Frankie can grade me... *wink*

A friend everyone should have

This morning I was having a nice conversation with my best friend... and I told him that I think everyone should have a friend like him...he doesn't talk much, so he's a great listener.. he knows when I'm feeling down, and knows exactly how to cheer me up... he doesn't judge.. he doesn't complain... he doesn't laugh at me... he's always there when I need him... I can tell him all my secrets, and I know he's not going to breathe a word to a soul... and no matter how I screw up, I know he'll always love me.. Now tell me... who doesn't want a friend like that??

Farewell Martha S. We Love You

I've just learned that a friend from one of my message boards has lost her battle with renal disease.. Martha S. is the name that I knew her by... she has been sick for a while, having problems tolerating peritoneal dialysis... she saw her doctor, who told her that she had to stop the peritoneal dialysis that she was doing, and because of a low and unstable blood pressure, she is not able to start hemodialysis.. and since those are the only dialysis options availible, she has only one option left, death..
I always hate hearing about things like this, but sometimes with illness, there does come a time when there is nothing more that medicine can do, and you must face your own mortality... and this is what Martha is doing..
I've never met her face to face, to be honest, I don't even know where she lives.. but she's been a great help to many people, answering questions and giving support to those who've needed it, myself included...
The internet is a strange being.. bringing people together who would never know each other otherwise.. people who rally around each other, and lend support when it's needed... people who lend an ear when you need someone to talk to.. and people who grieve when a friend is lost...

I have added a little link (among other things) to this little site... it's on the side bar, somewhere under my profile... called Hugs.... I think it's pretty much to see how many of your readers actually like you... and I don't even know how many regular readers I've got, if any.... but I put it there, just the same.... A friend and fellow blogger, who will remain nameless, doesn't like hugs and doesn't give them.. so he suggested changing the name to something else... Some cute stuff for an ugly day

What an ugly day it is today.. I mean, the rain, the wind... I guess it's normal for this time of year, but it's still ugly.... It's also an ugly day because I spent a majority of it at the hospital.. oh well... the sacrifices you make when you're trying to get on the transplant list... with all this ugliness, I thought that what's left of the day should be inundated with cute stuff.. so here goes....

This is Screech. He's my kitten, although, he's not really a kitten anymore. He's over a year old now... still cute, though...

This is Red, also known as FatCat... he weighs about 18lbs... I know, unhealthy, but he's still my baby..I think he's about 5 years old, but I've only had him about 4 years... I got him from a friend of my dad's, who found him in the woods...

Internet Boyfriends of Days Gone By

Today, I found myself thinking about a couple of internet boyfriends I had years ago.. One of them, I kicked myself for giving him up too quickly, the other, I was terrified of... both of them I knew about 7 years ago, and they both live in the southern US, actually, not that far from each other... I don't know why I started thinking about them today, but I was.. with a little bit of internet snooping, I found one of them... the one that I kicked myself for giving up.. he lives in eastern Texas, and is now married... the other, I couldn't find.. maybe it's better that I don't... I knew him longer than the other, a few years, actually... We talked online, and on the phone... I was working on finding the money to get him up to Canada to live with me... I didn't want to move there, because of my health.. his family life was bad. he was being physically and emotionally abused by his parents... and all I wanted to do was give him a real family... It's weird.. we only knew each other online and on the phone, but I know that I can honestly say that I loved him.. until he started threatening me, and trying to control my life.. from 3000 kilometres away.. he even managed to break up a relationship I had going here, twice... I had nightmares about this man finding me, and hurting me and my then boyfriend... I know I should probably just forget this guy.. but I can't help wondering where he is now, and how he's doing... and if things changed for him.. I hope they did.. and I hope he has a great life.... Maybe he's reading this right now... and if he is, I want him to know that I still think about him from time to time.. and he still holds a small piece of my heart.....

Breaking News

Oh wow... I just read that Brittany Spears and Justin Timberlake got married!! What a shocker, I mean.. I thought they broke up... I guess they were keeping things under wraps... It happens, I guess... people who live in a fish bowl try to keep some things private... sometimes they succeed, sometimes they don't.. I guess this is one of those times when they did.. Hey.. Congradulations Brittany and Justin!!
