Halloween Stories

So, Halloween is upon us... when I was little, I liked Halloween because I got to go around the neighborhood with my friends after dark.. when I got older, I didn't like it too much, cuz I didn't have any friends to go out with..*L* now, I like it cuz I get to sit in the house, and eat the candy that I'm giving out to the cute kids that come to the door.. I thought that a Halloween story was in order for today, so this is a good one.. not scary, but funny... Halloween 1991, bro was dressed as a woman, and I was dressed as a pumpkin... when we first moved to my mom's house, me and bro didn't really know our way around the neighborhood... our thinking (well, mine, don't think bro was old enough for this kind of logic..*L*) was that since it was a subdivision, that all the street were probably parallel to each other, so we went up one street and down the other, not criss crossing as we had been told in school.. we didn't realize that we had been going around in circles until we went to one ladies house.. she said that we had been there before.. she was nice enough to give us candy again, though... we went home after that... because if we were going around in circles, we weren't quite sure where home was.. *L*
Another thing I liked about Halloween when I was a kid.. when we were younger, and before we moved to the Island, we used to go to our grandmother's house on Halloween.. not a really big deal, I guess.. but we liked to go anyway.. now, Gram had a dog.. a very likable dog, who loved kids... because of this, she had to be tied during Halloween, because some of the smaller kids were scared of her.. as a reward, when the night was over, Gram would give her a Halloween kiss, you know, one of those caramel things in orange and black wrappers... the dog loved them.. and it was kinda funny to watch her eat them.. the sounds she would make.. no matter how much candy we got, that was always the highlight of the night.. *G* I missed that dog... she lived to the ripe old age of 15.. died 2 years ago... but anyway, I'm digressing.. damn, I'm good at that.. *L*

Have a Happy and Safe Halloween Everyone!!

Age is just a number, right??

I was reading Missy's blog, and I realized a few things... 1, she's younger than me.. *L* 2, she's doing all the stuff I'd like to be doing... she's getting married, to a great guy, I might add.. they're buying a house and moving out of the cool apartment that they live in.. it's a loft in downtown Charlottetown.. awesome place.. *G* Me, I live in a crappy little semi-basement apartment with my little brother... I'd like to own a house, but I don't see that coming in the near future.. I'm thinking of going to university.. as a mature student... I think that's funny.. me? Mature?? *LOL* I'm actually going to apply as a mature disabled student.. at St. Mary's in Halifax... I was thinking about that... if I do go there, I'll probably be in classes with kids 10 years younger than myself.. weird... oh well... Good luck Missy.. once you've got everything situated, you've GOT to have one helluva house warming party.. just to prove you're not getting too old... ;)
